COACHING SKILLS FOR MANAGERS

How To Use Coaching To Develop And Motivate People

( See below for a FREE REPORT on Coaching In The Workplace )

Coaching is one of the " buzz words " right now.

There are a lot of organisations introducing it as part of their approach to management and development.

But what exactly is it? What are the benefits of coaching and how do you go about introducing it?

A CIPD Training and Development Survey found that most businesses which used coaching relied on line Managers to carry it out.

Unfortunately, it also found that most line Managers received little formal training in how to do this.

The survey showed that the vast majority of respondents felt that coaching produced tangible results for both the individuals and the organisation.

However, there is a lot of uncertainty about what  “ coaching “ is and how it should be done.

This course explains what coaching is and why it is a valuable style of management.

It will demystify the process and outline a clear method of practice which Managers can use in the workplace.

You will learn:

  • how coaching differs from other Management styles
  • how coaching is different from mentoring
  • when coaching can be the most effective style to use
  • how to use the GROW model of coaching
  • the factors that need to be present to allow coaching to work
  • how to develop a " coaching culture "
  • the limitations of coaching in the workplace
  • when you should consider using an external coach
  • how to set SMART goals
  • how to develop your questioning and listening skills

I can run this course for any number of people, although small numbers will allow for more opportunity to practise skills. The course includes high quality supporting materials and free email and telephone follow up to help people implement what they have learned.
